(USA) PDAs transformed into mobile videophone devices
PacketVideo Corporation has announced an agreement to combine customized modules of their pvPlayer embedded software with QUALCOMMs MPEG-4 codec software. (Japan) 4G experiment succeeds
NTT DoCoMo has announced a successful result for their 100Mbps-downlink and 20Mbps-uplink transmission experiment using an experimental system for 4G mobile communications. The implications of this technology would be a broad-bandwidth, large-capacity wireless system. (USA) Report - mobile data networks and wireless LAN hot spots
Research carried out by the Meta Group has found that combining the use of mobile data networks and wireless LAN hot spots can deliver cost efficiency and improve end user's experience. (USA) Sonys Clie upgraded to Video Recorder
Sonys new handheld Clie PEG-NX70V has advance features which include recorded voice memos, wireless Internet browsing and MP3 playback. There is also an inbuilt digital camera that can record MPEG4 compression video clips and store up to 60 minutes of video on a 128MB Memory Stick media card.
