SOS Teacher, UK - on demand, UK

In the Kingston upon Hull area of NE England on Kingston Interactive Television (KIT) broadband TV service has run a pilot project with BBCi – the BBC interactive service. During the run-up to the examination period for 16 year olds, BBCi ran an extension of their GCSE Bitesize revision service involving local teachers.

When students accessed the service on KIT they were given the option to ask a question to a real teacher via sending an email through the set-top box or a computer or telephoning in the question. Usually within thirty minutes the team of teachers were able to give the answer via TV. The answers were also saved so students could access them on-demand at a later time.

In the right hand corner students can select a video to explain how they can send a message. In the bottom left hand corner students can select the answer to the latest question. Or, on the right hand side they can select a subject and get access to answers that have already been given to questions.
