British Grand Prix 2007 Preview
- Demo of sub-titling and video hotspots
adding value to value to video assets with overlay technologies
To run this demo double click
the play button.
Take your mouse up to the top
right corner of the video where a "SUB" button will appear.
On the "SUB" button you can select English or Spanish
sub-titles or switch off the sub-titles.
There are also video hotspots in
this video. They can be hidden or visible. (The first time
you use it you may need to allow pop-ups to open a new
browser - before you can see the effect of clicking on a
hotspot.)
Whenever you see the following
ads in the video, click on the point where the ad appears
for Johnnie Walker,
Allianz
and Canon. These hotspots are invisible, so it could be
turned into a competition where successful viewers are taken
to a website with a prize upon submission of email details.
As you play the video you will
also see other video hotspots. You can make a hotspot
obvious by putting a square box around it like with Jensen
Button at 03:06. Or you can leave the viewer to "explore"
with their mouse to then click on Anthony Davidson as at
03:32.
Look out for the opportunity to
buy a T-shirt at 04:39, send an "Email Button" at 04:46 and
place a bet at 05:06.
Note the original video remains untouched. All the sub-titles
and hotspots are overlaid the original video, so no video
editing is required. in this example the video does not stop
when a hotspot is clicked. However, the video can be made to
stop and the viewer just presses the play button to start the
video from when it was stopped.
There are obviously usability issues that need to be addressed
creating video hotspots.
