Championship Manager – evaluation report
This evaluation report details how the football management game, Championship Manager 2000/1, was used to support an ICT Key Stage 3 (11-14 yrs) programme of study, ‘Finding Things Out’. The game was used to support pupils’ development of database enquiry skills. The teacher designed specific scenarios where, for example, pupils played out the role of football club scouts tasked with finding suitable players according to criteria from the game’s database.

Overview of the use of The Sims
In this evaluation, The Sims was used with Key Stage 3 and 4 (11-16 yrs old) pupils (mainly boys) in a special school for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties. The game was primarily intended to support elements of the ICT curriculum; however, it also provided a platform for collaborative work and positive discussions about relationships.
