Associates has been involved with e-learning developments for more than
twelve years. We focus at a strategic level monitoring, analysing and
advising policy and decision makers on the opportunities for utilising and
implementing e-learning.
Senior Partner, Peter Bates is
on the Education Working Group of the
Broadband Stakeholders Group (BSG) - the UK Government's key advisory
group on Broadband. The Group have produced a report on
Opportunities and Barriers to the use of Broadband in Education', March 2003
We have also provided interim
project management for the establishment of
The e-learning
Research Centre which was established in October 2003 as a joint venture
between UK eUniversities Worldwide Ltd (UKeU)
and the Universities of Manchester and Southampton. It is funded by the
Higher Education Funding Council for
England. The e-Learning Research Centre has the aim of becoming a
leading, international centre of excellence focussing on research into
eLearning within the Higher Education sector.
During 2002 the
UK-based
Learning and Skills Development
Agency commissioned pjb Associates to conduct a study on learning
with Interactive TV. This has resulted in a publication
Interactive TV: A learning platform with potential.

Associates has also assisted UNESCO and the European Commission to organise
an Eurasia Online’98 Conference in Central Asia which included a stream on
distance education and healthcare.
